Treasure Hunt 2026 saw strong participation from residents across age groups. A total of 30 teams took part in the event. Each team had four members, making 120 participants overall. Organisers ensured inclusion by mandating that every team include at least one woman and one child aged between 14 and 18 years. Therefore, the format encouraged intergenerational bonding and gender balance. Participants worked together while navigating the city, which strengthened teamwork and shared learning.

Meanwhile, teams followed five carefully curated clues spread across a 4.5 kilometre route in the heart of the city. Each team had to identify the correct location, take a selfie as proof, and return to the finish point within 90 minutes. The clues reflected Hyderabad’s identity and focused on cinema, food, currency, education, and politics. Also, the route allowed participants to explore familiar spaces with a fresh perspective.

Later, organisers announced the winners at the conclusion of Treasure Hunt 2026. Three teams emerged as prize winners. They received book vouchers worth ₹5,000, ₹4,000, and ₹3,000 respectively. The prizes reinforced the event’s connection with the Hyderabad Literary Festival and its focus on reading and learning. Therefore, the rewards aligned with the larger cultural goals of the collaboration.

Hyderabad Runners Society also thanked Prasads IMAX, Paradise Biryani, and Vidyaranya School for granting access to their premises. Their support helped ensure the smooth conduct of the event. Treasure Hunt 2026 stood as a celebration of exploration, learning, teamwork, and community engagement. It successfully blended physical activity with cultural discovery, which both Hyderabad Runners Society and the Hyderabad Literary Festival strongly support.

The Treasure Hunt is a wonderful example of how literature can step beyond books and connect with people through movement, curiosity, and shared experiences. Collaborations like this truly celebrate the spirit of Hyderabad, Amita Desai, Festival Director.
