Traffic Advisory for Chowmahalla Palace Event Today Evening
Hyderabad, Jan. 17 (Maxim News) : Hyderabad Traffic Police on Thursday issued a traffic advisory in view of the Telangana Sangeetha Nataka Academy Ghazal Programme scheduled at Chowmahalla Palace on January 17, 2026. The event will begin at 6.30 pm, and officials expect a large public gathering in and around the venue.
Police anticipate moderate traffic congestion in surrounding areas. To ensure smooth traffic flow, authorities will restrict vehicular movement on key routes from 2 pm to 11 pm on the same day.
Traffic Police said roads between Madina and Charminar, Charminar and Shalibanda, Shalibanda near Rajesh Medical Hall to Volga Junction, and Volga Junction to Moosabowli via Khilwat Road will remain closed during the restricted hours. These steps aim to manage traffic and avoid bottlenecks near Chowmahalla Palace.
Diversions Announced Around Charminar Area
Meanwhile, police announced multiple diversions at major junctions. Traffic coming from Nayapool towards Charminar will divert at Madina Junction towards City College.
Vehicles from Nagulchintha and Shalibanda heading to Charminar will divert at Himmatpura towards Hari Bowli and Volga Junction, then move towards Fateh Darwaza Road.
At Volga Junction, traffic from Himmatpura will not move towards Chowmahalla Palace.
Instead, police will divert vehicles towards Fateh Darwaza. Similarly, traffic from Fateh Darwaza will divert towards Himmatpura.
At Moosabowli, vehicles from Puranapool will not proceed towards Charminar and will divert towards City College.
Police also announced diversions at Chowk Maidan Kaman, Etebar Chowk, Sher E Batil Kaman, and Lakkad Kote on a need basis.
RTC city buses heading to Charminar will terminate at Afzalgunj. Buses from Falaknuma will divert at Shamsheergunj towards Tadban.
RTC buses going to districts from MGBS and Imlibun via Nayapool and Madina will follow an alternative route through Chaderghat, Chanchalguda, Saidabad, IS Sadan, DMRL Junction, Midhani, MBNR Flyover, Bandlaguda, and Aramghar.
Traffic Police urged commuters to plan travel in advance and take alternate routes. Officials also asked the public to follow updates on the Hyderabad Traffic Police social media handles or call the traffic helpline at 9010203626 for assistance. (Maxim News)
