Secunderabad parliamentary constituency BRS party in charge Talasani Sai Kiran Yadav expressed anger over what he described as actions that could damage the existence of Secunderabad. He accused the Congress government of acting against public interest and targeting a movement linked to the city’s identity. The rally call came from former minister and Sanathnagar MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who urged people to gather at Secunderabad Railway Station on Saturday morning.

However, the situation escalated early in the day. Police deployed a large force across key areas and carried out arrests from the morning itself. As a result, the planned rally did not proceed as announced. Security personnel remained on alert, citing restrictions imposed under Section 144 and curfew-like conditions.

Meanwhile, police arrested Talasani Sai Kiran Yadav while he was heading towards the Mahatma Gandhi statue on MG Road. He was dressed in black, holding black balloons, and raising slogans of Secunderabad Bachao. Police then took him to Goshamahal police station. Supporters alleged that the arrest was illegal and aimed at preventing a peaceful demonstration.

Later, speaking on the occasion, Talasani Sai Kiran Yadav strongly condemned what he termed illegal arrests and unnecessary restrictions. He said the imposition of Section 144 and curfew for the rally was unjustified. He also stated that Hyderabad and Secunderabad are twin cities and accused the government of trying to erase the history and existence of Secunderabad.

He further questioned the police decision-making process. He said that permission for the rally was sought on the 5th of the month but was deliberately rejected late on Friday night. He asked whether police officers would have inspected arrangements a day earlier if permission was never intended. He also made it clear that arrests would not stop the movement.

According to him, public support for the Secunderabad Bachao Rally is growing. He said the organisers would conduct a large rally in the first week of February with renewed energy and greater participation.
