India Retaliation Against Tariffs?

Washington/Internet/Hyderabad, Jan 18 (Maxim News): While US President Donald Trump has been threatening to impose tariffs on India, India has been responding quietly. Two US senators have recently urged Trump to pressure India to remove the 30 percent tariff imposed by India on pulses exported from the US to India. They have termed the tariff as inappropriate. North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer and Montana Senator Steve Daines wrote this letter to Trump. They said that India imposed a 30 percent tariff on American yellow peas (lentils) on October 30 last year, which came into effect from November 1 last year.

This move went unnoticed and the government did not publicize it, he said.
