Hyderabad: The Jagathgirigutta suicide attempt ended in a tragic death after a woman died and three family members were left battling for life. The incident took place at Vijayanagar colony in Jagathgirigutta on Wednesday night. Police confirmed that the case involves an alleged suicide attempt by a family. Therefore, the authorities have registered a case and started a detailed investigation.
According to the police, businessman Satish Kumar lived in a flat with his wife Amani, son Nitin Kumar, and daughter Srijavali. For the last few years, Satish Kumar had been facing financial problems. As a result, the family reportedly slipped into depression. Later, on Monday evening, the family decided to end their lives. Police said this decision led to the events that unfolded over the next two days.
Police suspect that Satish Kumar and his son Nitin Kumar cut the wrist of Srijavali. They noted that Srijavali was physically disabled. After killing Srijavali, police said the trio Nitin Kumar, Satish Kumar, and Amani consumed sleeping pills. Later, they allegedly cut their wrists using sharp objects. Then, they lay down near the body of Srijavali, expecting to die soon. Therefore, the police believe the act was planned by the family.
Police findings in Jagathgirigutta suicide attempt
On Wednesday, the situation changed when Nitin Kumar altered his decision. He called his friend over the phone seeking help. Following this call, the police were informed. Meanwhile, police teams rushed to Satish Kumar’s house to check what had happened. The scene shocked the officers who entered the flat.
Police found Srijavali lying dead inside the house. At the same time, Satish Kumar, Nitin Kumar, and Amani were found lying on the floor. The police said the husband and wife were nearly lifeless. Therefore, officers immediately called ambulances. Medical teams shifted the three survivors to a hospital for treatment, where they remain critical.
During preliminary enquiries, police found that Satish Kumar and Nitin Kumar had slit the wrist of Srijavali. Police said this injury led to her death. Later, based on these findings, the police registered a case. They are continuing the investigation to establish all facts related to the Jagathgirigutta suicide attempt.
