Hyderabad Airport: Bullet found in luggage

Hyderabad Airport | Hyderabad, Jan. 23: Security officials detected a bullet in the luggage of a passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, triggering brief security concern on Friday.

The passenger was travelling from Hyderabad to Tirupati. During routine screening, CISF personnel noticed the bullet inside the check in baggage.

Immediately, they isolated the bag and questioned the passenger as per standard protocol.

The bullet was seized by CISF officials for verification. Following preliminary checks, the passenger was handed over to airport police for further inquiry.

Police officials said an investigation is underway to determine how the bullet ended up in the passenger’s luggage , a case has been booked.

We are verifying the valid explanation from him, he holds firearm license. No other suspicious material was found in the baggage.

Airport operations continued normally, and there was no disruption to flights, said Kanakaiah Sampathi, SHO, RGIA Outpost Police.

Authorities reiterated that strict screening measures are in place to ensure passenger safety and urged travellers to check their belongings before travel.
