MANUU Republic Day Celebration Marks Unity And Sacrifice

Maulana Azad National Urdu University marked the 77th Republic Day with a formal celebration on its campus. The event focused on national unity, sacrifice, and India’s diversity. Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan unfurled the national flag and addressed students, staff, and faculty. He said the occasion reminds citizens of shared identity despite differences. He stated, “We come from diverse regions, religions and linguistic backgrounds but we are all Indians”.
In his address, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan urged the university community to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters. He said Republic Day should inspire reflection on the struggle that led to independence. He noted that many leaders gave their lives and wealth so future generations could live in a free country. Therefore, he said the benefits enjoyed today are the result of sacrifices made by earlier generations.
The Vice Chancellor also referred to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad during his speech. He said Azad endured hardships and imprisonment to protect the unity of the nation. He added that Azad made every possible sacrifice to ensure India’s independence. Meanwhile, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan described India’s diversity as precious stones. He said just as stones are shaped by flowing water and gain value, India’s diversity strengthens the nation.
Later, the Vice Chancellor distributed certificates and medals to MANUU NCC cadets. He also felicitated the winners of the AIU Zonal Youth Festival 2025. Earlier in the programme, MANUU Sub Unit NCC cadets presented a guard of honour. Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar of MANUU, and Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Proctor, accompanied the Vice Chancellor during the parade.
Students presented the National Anthem and patriotic songs during the celebration. Prof. Mohd. Muzaffar Hussain Khan and Dr. Shaikh Wasim supervised the performances. Dr. Mohd. Yousuf Khan, Principal of MANUU Polytechnic Hyderabad and Chairman of the Committee, announced the names of NCC cadets. Dr. Mohd. Mustafa Ali Sarwari, PRO I c, convened the programme. Lieutenant Mohd. Abdul Mujeeb, Associate NCC Officer, supervised the parade preparation of MANUU NCC cadets.
The Instructional Media Centre of MANUU live streamed the programme on the IMC MANUU YouTube channel. Faculty members, officers, a large number of students, and staff attended the celebration, marking Republic Day with collective participation and respect.
