MANUU Moot Court Hosts 2nd National Competition

Maulana Azad National Urdu University Law School organised the 2nd National Moot Court Competition 2026, offering a national platform for legal education and advocacy skills. The event brought together law students from 22 law schools across the country. The competition aimed to test advocacy, research, and analytical abilities through structured court simulations. Therefore, the MANUU Moot Court Competition emerged as a key academic initiative for aspiring legal professionals.

The inaugural session took place on January 10, 2026. The Guest of Honour, Dr. Bharat Bhushan Parsoon, Senior Advocate and Former Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, shared insights on advocacy and judicial discipline. Meanwhile, the Chief Guest Address was delivered by the Learned Attorney General for India, Shri R. Venkataramani, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court. He underlined the importance of moot court exercises in developing constitutional values, analytical reasoning, and professional responsibility among students.

In his Presidential Address, Prof. Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor of MANUU, encouraged students to actively engage in national level academic initiatives. Earlier, Prof. Dr. Tabrez Ahmad, Dean and Head of MANUU Law School and Chairman of the Moot Court Committee, delivered the welcome address. He stressed the role of mooting in shaping competent and ethical legal professionals. Later, Dr. Sudhanshu Chandra, Assistant Professor and Faculty Convener, proposed the vote of thanks, while Student Convener Ms. Jaza Abbas explained the objectives of the competition.

The final round featured teams from Keshav Memorial Law College and Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur. Maharashtra National Law University emerged as the winning team of the 2nd MANUU Law School National Moot Court Competition 2026.

The Best Memorial Award was also conferred on the same university for quality research and clarity of legal arguments. An eminent panel judged the final round, including Mr. Asadullah Pasha, Mr. B. Narasimha Sharma, Mr. Mir Wajid Ali Kamil, Mr. Sri A. Jagan, and Hon’ble Justice B. Prakash Rao.

The valedictory session was held on January 24, 2026. Individual awards were announced during the ceremony. Ms. Aditi Solanki received the Best Speaker Female award. Mr. Kushal Pathak won the Best Speaker Male award. Ms. Aditi Kalluri received the Best Researcher Award. Hon’ble Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy delivered the valedictory address, while Justice B. Prakash Rao presided. Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar MANUU, addressed the gathering and appreciated the event’s success.
