Hyderabad: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met with selected students after presenting the Union Budget 2026 27 in Parliament. The Nirmala Sitharaman meeting students initiative followed her budget speech and focused on budget making processes.
Earlier, Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the 2026 27 financial year in the Lok Sabha. Afterward, she scheduled a special interaction with 30 students. Therefore, the Nirmala Sitharaman meeting students program aimed to explain budget formulation and decision making.

As part of the program, 30 students from colleges across the country were selected. They sat in the Lok Sabha gallery and listened to the budget speech live. In addition, they visited the Finance Ministry at Kartavya Bhavan.
According to officials, the government launched the initiative to build awareness among students. It seeks to explain how key financial decisions are taken and implemented. Hence, the Nirmala Sitharaman meeting students effort focuses on governance learning.
After the budget presentation, the Finance Minister interacted directly with the students. She heard their views and suggestions on the budget. Moreover, she answered their questions related to budget provisions. Through this interaction, she explained governance related matters.
