The Young Chef Olympiad 2026 will bring global culinary culture to Hyderabad as part of the 12th edition of the IIHM International Young Chef Olympiad. The International Institute of Hotel Management is hosting the event, which brings together young culinary talent from 50 countries. The Olympiad has grown from a student competition into a global platform for culinary diplomacy, education and cultural exchange. Therefore, it positions food as a shared language between nations and future hospitality leaders.

Conceived in India and celebrated worldwide, the Young Chef Olympiad continues to expand its international footprint. Meanwhile, the theme for Young Chef Olympiad 2026, “Preserving the World’s Global Culinary Heritage through AI,” reflects its shift into a knowledge and learning ecosystem. The theme highlights how technology, ethics and human creativity come together in modern culinary education.

The Opening Ceremony of Young Chef Olympiad 2026 will take place in Bengaluru on February 1, 2026. However, Hyderabad will play a key role in the Olympiad’s journey across India. The city will host two major engagements linked to the event. These include a global cultural celebration and a competitive round. Therefore, Hyderabad will be firmly placed in the international culinary spotlight during Young Chef Olympiad 2026.

Today, Hyderabad will host the United World of Young Chefs International Food Festival, one of the Olympiad’s most distinctive cultural showcases. The festival will be held at The Glass Onion in Gachibowli. It is being hosted with support from Chef Shankar Krishnamurthy, who partnered in curating the event. The festival promotes culinary diplomacy and global friendship through food.

The United World of Young Chefs International Food Festival is a non competitive event. It will feature 10 participating Young Chef Olympiad countries. These are France, Scotland, Belarus, Greece, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Nigeria, Ireland and Switzerland. Each country will present traditional and signature dishes prepared live by international mentors and young chef contestants. Guests will experience world cuisines under one roof.

A key highlight will be the felicitation of 15 chefs from Hyderabad. They will receive the title of “ICON Chefs of Hyderabad” for their contribution to the city’s culinary ecosystem. Meanwhile, exclusive Telangana and Andhra Pradesh cuisine counters will showcase regional food. Speciality restaurants such as Chittoor Naidu, Palle Vindu and Pondy Parottas will present regional dishes. A dessert counter by Cream Stone will conclude the evening.
