According to expert estimates, the seismic energy released by the earthquake was about 1 × 10¹² joules. This amount of energy is considered significant. It is equivalent to around 278 megawatt hours of explosive energy. It also equals roughly 239 tons of TNT. Such energy levels, experts note, are enough to wake people and create panic, even if structural damage is not immediately reported.

Meanwhile, earthquakes were also reported in another part of the country. According to the National Center for Seismology, tremors were felt in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Monday morning. The earthquake occurred at around 3:31 am. The intensity was recorded at 4.6 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located in the Nicobar region at a depth of ten kilometers.
