Hyderabad, May 13: Posters targeting Bandi Sanjay Kumar and his son Bandi Sai Bhagirath appeared in parts of the city ahead of the scheduled police inquiry in the ongoing POCSO case.
The posters stated that Sai Bhageerath was “missing” and urged people aware of his whereabouts to inform the police station.
The posters surfaced amid heightened political attention surrounding the case registered at Pet Basheerabad Police Station.
Police had earlier issued notices directing Sai Bhageerath to appear before the investigating officer for questioning.
Posters Trigger Political Buzz In Hyderabad
The issue gained momentum after Deputy Commissioner of Police Rithiraj recently stated before the media that Sai Bhageerath was not available for questioning.
Her remarks triggered widespread political discussion and criticism from opposition parties.
On Wednesday, posters carrying messages about the accused being untraceable were pasted on several walls in parts of Hyderabad.
The posters also appealed to citizens to share information about Sai Bhageerath’s location with police authorities.
The development comes at a time when the Cyberabad police have intensified investigation into the POCSO case.
Police recently served notices to the accused’s maternal uncle asking him to produce Sai Bhageerath before investigators for inquiry.
The case has attracted strong political reactions in Telangana, with opposition parties accusing both the BJP and Congress of handling the matter politically.
Police officials, however, maintained that the investigation is continuing as per legal procedure.
