Mancherial/Hyderabad, Sept 26 (Maxim News): The deadline for ration card beneficiaries to complete e-KYC has been extended until the end of October, officials said. Around 20% of beneficiaries in Manchiryal district are yet to complete the process.
The extension comes after the distribution of the three-month rice quota was completed and ration shops were closed. Officials are now encouraging beneficiaries to complete e-KYC from home using a mobile phone.
A dedicated mobile application and an online facility have been made available to help beneficiaries complete the process and check their e-KYC status.
How to Complete Ration Card e-KYC Through Mobile
Beneficiaries can download the Mera eKYC app from the Google Play Store. They must then open the AadhaarFaceRD/Aadhaar authentication application, select the state and enter their Aadhaar number along with the captcha.
After OTP verification, beneficiaries have to complete the required Aadhaar-based face or photo verification. Once the process is successfully completed, a confirmation message will be displayed.
Beneficiaries can also check their e-KYC status through the Civil Supplies Department’s online facility. After entering the ration card number and captcha, details of the family members will be displayed.
If “Active” appears against a family member’s name, the e-KYC is considered completed. If “Inactive” is displayed, the beneficiary is required to complete the process.
Officials said around 20% of the e-KYC process is still pending in Manchiryal district. Awareness programmes have been conducted across the district over the past three months to encourage beneficiaries to complete the verification.
The e-KYC exercise is aimed at ensuring that ration benefits reach eligible beneficiaries. Officials have urged those who have not completed the process to do so before the October-end deadline.
They also said beneficiaries can complete the verification online from home, reducing the need to visit ration shops.
