Hyderabad, Sept 26 (Maxim News): Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) president Kalvakuntla Kavitha has announced that her party will contest the upcoming Khairatabad Assembly by-election. She said the party will field a candidate in the constituency.
The announcement comes after the Khairatabad Assembly seat fell vacant following the disqualification of Danam Nagender. The Supreme Court subsequently dismissed Nagender’s challenge to the disqualification, paving the way for a by-election.
Kavitha Raises Voter List and Healthcare Issues
Kavitha criticised elected representatives who change parties after winning elections. Referring to Danam Nagender, she questioned the practice of contesting from another party after being elected on a different party’s ticket.
She also raised concerns over the ongoing revision of electoral rolls. Kavitha alleged that some voters were being removed because of clerical errors and claimed that there was public suspicion about the process. These remarks were part of her criticism of the voter-list revision.
Kavitha expressed concern over the reported deaths of children at RIMS in Adilabad and called for greater attention to Telangana’s government healthcare and education sectors.
She alleged that patients were facing difficulties in accessing services at government hospitals, including NIMS and Niloufer. She also alleged that the state government had not released sufficient funds for various health schemes and that Aarogyasri dues remained pending.
Kavitha questioned the government’s claims about developing Telangana along the lines of cities such as Dallas and Singapore while raising concerns over conditions in government hospitals.
She also alleged that a significant portion of funds allocated to Integrated Tribal Development Agencies had not been utilised. Kavitha further said the TRS Force would visit government hospitals across districts to assess conditions.
Kavitha Denies Allegations Over Farmhouse
Kavitha rejected allegations concerning her farmhouse and said the property was not located on illegal, encroached or assigned land. She also denied that the farmhouse fell within the Full Tank Level (FTL) area.
She said details of her assets had been disclosed in her election affidavit. Kavitha alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was attempting to divert attention from other issues by targeting her and the opposition.
She also claimed that government officials had previously inspected the farmhouses associated with K. Chandrashekar Rao, K. T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao but had not taken action.
