Moreover, MLAs and senior leaders are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any last minute issues. District ministers and the in charge minister are reviewing developments regularly and issuing directions.

Municipal Chairman Elections | Congress Targets All 12 Municipalities

The Congress high command has focused strongly on these elections. In a meeting with the Chief Minister, PCC president and ministers, leaders decided to hoist the party flag in all municipalities of the undivided district. Accordingly, local MLAs are working to secure support.

Congress enjoys a clear majority in Bhupalpally, Parkal, Mulugu, Narsampet, Station Ghanpur, Marripeda and Dornakal.

Therefore, the party expects to win Chairman and Vice Chairman posts there.

However, Mahabubabad, Jangaon, Kesamudram and Wardhannapet have resulted in a hung situation. In these municipalities, ex officio and independent members have become crucial.

District in charge minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is holding talks with independents and seeking their support.

In Kesamudram, both Congress and BRS won eight seats each. The ex officio vote of Mahabubabad MP Balaram Naik is likely to be decisive.

Meanwhile, in Thorrur, BRS secured a majority with nine seats against Congress’s seven. However, Congress is exploring support through ex officio members, including MLA Yashaswini Reddy and MP Kavya.
