BRS Municipal Wins | Hyderabad, Feb. 17: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi has secured full majority in 17 municipalities in the recent municipal elections.
The party retained the seats it won during polling and successfully formed municipal bodies in these towns.
Party leaders expressed confidence that they would capture eight more municipalities where the election of chairpersons and vice chairpersons has been postponed.
So far, the party has hoisted its flag in Ellampet, Alampur, Jammikunta, Sircilla, Isnapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Dubbaka, Raikal, Asifabad, Aiza, Gummadidala, Jinnaram, Gaddapotharam, Mooduchintalapalli, Cheryal and Tirumalagiri.
Meanwhile, elections for chairperson and vice chairperson posts have been deferred in Illandu, Sultanabad, Ibrahimpatnam, Kagaznagar, Kothanapalli, Khanapur, Zaheerabad, Indresham, Dornakal, Jangaon and Thorrur.
However, the party remains optimistic about winning Kothanapalli, Indresham, Zaheerabad, Ibrahimpatnam, Jangaon, Thorrur, Khanapur and Kagaznagar once elections are conducted.
Leaders said democratic processes will ensure victory for their candidates despite what they described as Congress strategies.

To strengthen its position in hung municipalities, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has appointed special election in charges. On Monday, he personally reviewed ground level situations by speaking to local leadership, MLAs and designated in charges.
Senior leaders have already moved to their assigned municipalities. For Thorrur, the party appointed MLC Madhusudana Chary, former minister Satyavathi Rathod and former MLA Peddhi Sudarshan Reddy. For Jangaon, Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash and MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy were assigned responsibilities.
Similarly, MLA Kova Lakshmi was appointed for Kothanapalli, MLA Anil Jadhav for Khanapur, MLA Prabhakar Reddy and MLC Yadava Reddy for Indresham, former minister Jogu Ramanna for Kagaznagar, MLAs Chinta Prabhakar and Sunitha Lakshma Reddy for Zaheerabad, and MLA Sabitha Indra Reddy along with MLC Shambipur Raju for Ibrahimpatnam.
The party leadership stated that if elections are held in a fair manner, BRS will secure victory in all eight municipalities. With strategic coordination and focused efforts, the party aims to expand its control in the remaining civic bodies.
