Hyderabad, June 13: Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C V Anand on Friday reviewed arrangements for the upcoming Muharram observances and the historic Bibi Ka Alam procession during a coordination meeting held in the city.
The meeting took place at the Salar Jung Museum auditorium and was attended by Shia religious leaders, public representatives and senior officials from various government departments.
Bibi Ka Alam Procession Arrangements Reviewed
During the meeting, the Police Commissioner directed all departments to work in coordination to ensure smooth conduct of the Bibi Ka Alam procession.
The procession will begin from Bibi Ka Alam Ashoorkhana in Dabeerpura and proceed through Aitbar Chowk, Kotla Alijah, Panjesha, Mir Alam Mandi, Charminar, Gulzar Houz, Purani Haveli and Darushifa before concluding at Masjid e Aliam.
Police said additional platoons and personnel from the Rapid Action Force will be deployed along the route to maintain law and order.
Specialised units including She Teams and Task Force personnel will also monitor the procession route and support security arrangements.
Officials additionally discussed safety measures for the elephant that traditionally participates in the procession. Authorities decided to maintain a buffer zone around the animal and deploy volunteers to regulate crowd movement nearby.
