KTR Alleges ‘Rahul Bandhu’ Scheme Using Farmer Funds
Hyderabad, Mar 9 (Maxim News): BRS Working President K Tarak Rama Rao criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and alleged that the state government introduced a scheme called “Rahul Bandhu” using funds meant for farmers. He made the remarks while speaking at a programme in Sircilla.
KTR said the government diverted funds from the Rythu Bandhu scheme to run the alleged “Rahul Bandhu” programme. He claimed the scheme sends money meant for Telangana farmers to Rahul Gandhi and his family.
He also alleged that the government failed to release Rythu Bandhu payments to farmers several times. According to him, the delay happened four times while the government continued to prioritise other spending.
KTR criticised the Chief Minister and said farmers are waiting for Rythu Bandhu payments. He said the Congress government promised to increase financial support to farmers but has not fulfilled that promise.
He further alleged that the government neglected farmers and instead focused on the alleged Rahul Bandhu scheme. According to him, the Chief Minister is trying to protect his position through such decisions.
KTR also accused the government of sending large funds whenever Rahul Gandhi or his family needs financial support. He alleged that the Chief Minister is acting to please the Congress leadership in Delhi.
In addition, he criticised the Congress government for failing to fulfil its election promises. He said Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, promised legal backing for the six guarantees within 100 days of forming the government.
KTR said the BRS will raise the issue in the upcoming Assembly sessions. He announced that the party plans to introduce a private member bill demanding legal status for the six guarantees.
He added that the bill would pressure the government to implement the promises made to the people of Telangana. According to him, even Congress MLAs would have to support the bill because the guarantees were promised by their own party leaders.
KTR made these remarks during a felicitation programme for newly elected councillors held in Sircilla. (Maxim News)
