Civil Supply Raids In Pochampally, Domestic Cylinders Seized

Hyderabad, March 22: Civil Supplies officials conducted surprise raids on several hotels in Bhoodan Pochampally municipal area on Sunday. Officials seized five domestic gas cylinders. They said hotels used these cylinders for commercial purposes against rules.

Officials said they received information about misuse of domestic LPG cylinders. Therefore, they carried out inspections. During the raids, they found five cylinders used in violation of norms. They seized them and began action.

Pochampally Cylinder Seizure After Domestic LPG Misuse

Civil Supplies DT Balamani said officials will hand over the seized cylinders to the concerned oil company. She also warned of strict action against violations. Officials registered cases under Section 6A against four hotel operators.

Officials expressed concern over the misuse. They said households face shortage of LPG cylinders. However, some hotels continued to use domestic cylinders for business. Therefore, they said strict checks will continue.

Meanwhile, hotel operators said the cylinder shortage affected their work. They said high commercial cylinder prices also created pressure. Therefore, some said they faced difficulty managing daily cooking needs.

Gas Shortage Forces Hotels to Use Wood Stoves

Officials also noticed another trend during inspections. Several hotels switched to wood stoves. They used firewood for tea preparation and cooking meals. This shift followed strict checks on domestic cylinder misuse.

Hotel operators said they chose wood stoves to avoid penalties and cases. They said officials imposed strict monitoring on domestic LPG usage. Therefore, some hotels avoided gas use to prevent fines.

They also said gas shortages delayed cooking. They said they struggled to manage operations. Meanwhile, they expressed concern over how to manage without steady gas supply.

Civil Supplies officials said enforcement will continue. They asked commercial establishments to follow LPG rules. They also warned of more inspections if violations continue.
