Drunk Driving Cases Rise In Cyberabad And Malkajgiri

Hyderabad: Police in Cyberabad and Malkajgiri booked 387 drunk driving cases during a special drive on Saturday night. Traffic police teams conducted checks at multiple locations. They identified drivers operating vehicles in an inebriated condition and registered cases.

The Malkajgiri traffic police alone caught 214 persons. Officers said all were driving under the influence of alcohol. Police registered cases against each violator. Meanwhile, enforcement teams continued checks through the night.

Cyberabad Drunk Driving Drive Targets Repeat Violations

Among those caught in Malkajgiri, 187 were two wheeler riders. Five were three wheeler drivers. Twenty one were four wheeler drivers. Police also caught one heavy vehicle driver during the operation.

Officials also measured Blood Alcohol Concentration levels. Ten persons recorded BAC levels above 301 mg per 100 ml. Therefore, police said these cases showed serious violations. They said strict action will follow as per law.

Meanwhile, Cyberabad police also carried out a similar enforcement drive. Officers booked 173 drunk driving cases. They said the drive focused on preventing accidents and improving road safety. Checks took place at key traffic junctions.

Drunk Driving Cases Highlight Road Safety Concerns

Among those caught in Cyberabad, 138 were two wheeler riders. Ten were three wheeler drivers. Twenty two were four wheeler drivers. Police also caught three heavy vehicle drivers during the checks.

Thirteen offenders recorded BAC levels above 301 mg per 100 ml. Therefore, police said they will produce offenders before the court. Officials also warned motorists against driving after consuming alcohol.

Police said such drives will continue. They said enforcement helps reduce accidents. Meanwhile, they advised drivers to follow traffic rules. They also urged citizens to avoid drunk driving to ensure safety.

Officials said drunken driving remains a major risk on city roads. Therefore, regular enforcement drives aim to create awareness. Police said they will intensify checks during weekends and holidays.
