WATCH: ACB Seizes Rs 1.54 Crore Cash And Gold In DA Case

Hyderabad, June 16: The Anti Corruption Bureau seized Rs 1.54 crore in cash, around one kilogram of gold, and property documents during searches linked to a disproportionate assets case against Lands and Survey Deputy Director Sunkari Narahari.

ACB officials conducted simultaneous searches at 11 locations on Tuesday. The raids covered Narahari’s residence, office, and properties linked to relatives in Chatrinaka.

According to ACB DSP Sridhar, officials registered the case on Monday and launched searches the next day.

Investigators found Rs 1.54 crore in cash stored inside a cupboard in the bedroom. Officials also recovered gold and identified fixed deposits worth Rs 1 crore.

The agency also detected two bank lockers and seized documents linked to immovable properties.

According to officials, the government valuation of the identified assets is around Rs 5 crore. However, market estimates may place the value significantly higher.

During the investigation, officials also found properties registered in the name of Narahari’s son.

ACB has written to bank authorities seeking permission to open the lockers and continue the investigation.

Officials arrested Sunkari Narahari and confirmed that he will be produced before a court on Wednesday.
