Hyderabad, June 16: Telangana’s Eagle Force conducted simultaneous raids across multiple districts on Tuesday following complaints over alleged drug and marijuana use and detained 19 individuals during the operation.
According to officials, medical tests were conducted on those detained. Fourteen individuals reportedly tested positive for marijuana, while one person tested positive for both drugs and marijuana.
Authorities stated that the individuals admitted to substance use during questioning. They were shifted to de addiction centres and their families were informed.
Eagle Force Expands Drug Enforcement Across Telangana
The coordinated operation covered Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri, Future City Commissionerate, Mahabubnagar and Nizamabad districts.
Officials said Eagle Force deployed 15 teams for the raids and gathered information regarding suspected supply networks.
During the investigation, authorities alleged that narcotic substances including cocaine, MDMA, LSD and hash oil were being routed through networks operating from Goa and Bengaluru before reaching Hyderabad.
Investigators also claimed that technical analysis helped identify 44 suspected users across Telangana and neighbouring states including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Goa.
Officials further stated that financial transactions linked to drug purchases were traced and that more than Rs 3.13 lakh was allegedly transferred to accounts under investigation.
Police said two individuals identified during the probe had previously been arrested in an NDPS related case in 2019.
