Hyderabad, April 13: A severe heat wave warning in Telangana has put the state on alert for the next seven days. The Meteorological Department said temperatures will rise sharply across several districts. As a result, people are avoiding outdoor movement during peak hours.
Officials warned that heat wave conditions may prevail statewide. Therefore, residents must stay cautious and limit exposure to the sun. Experts added that the intensity of heat will remain unusually high throughout the week.
Heat Wave Warning in Telangana Intensifies Across Districts
Northern and eastern districts will face the worst impact. Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Nalgonda may record temperatures between 42°C and 45°C. Moreover, daytime temperatures could stay 2 to 4 degrees above normal levels.
Authorities advised people to avoid going out between 11 am and 4 pm. Meanwhile, rising heat levels may also affect Hyderabad and nearby areas. Low humidity may increase the risk of heat stroke and discomfort.
The weather department said the heat index will remain high this week. Consequently, doctors warned of dehydration and related health issues. People should drink enough water and consume fluids like buttermilk.
Additionally, experts advised using umbrellas or hats when stepping outside. Farmers and outdoor workers should finish tasks during cooler hours. These precautions may reduce health risks during the ongoing heat wave.
