Hyderabad, April 20 (Maxim News): The police are cracking down on those who are targeting and harassing female celebrities on social media platforms. In this context, the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police have arrested an accused based on a complaint filed by famous actress and anchor Anasuya Bharadwaj. The accused has been identified as Chanti from Nalgonda district. Anasuya said that posts with extremely obscene comments were made against Anasuya through her Instagram account (@chantidhorapally). Anasuya has filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Department alleging that posts are being made to defame her personality and violate her dignity.
After receiving Anasuya’s complaint, the Cyberabad police identified the accused with the help of technical evidence. Chanti, who was in Nalgonda, was arrested and remanded. In this context, the Cyber Crime Police made several key suggestions to the public and netizens. They warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone who posts obscene content, abuses or personal attacks on social media. They advised that social media should be used only for knowledge and exchange of information, and not to defame others. The police warned that cases will be registered under the IT Act against those who harass women. In a context where celebrities are often subjected to such harassment, Anasuya is receiving support from film personalities and netizens for bravely coming forward and filing a complaint.
