Hyderabad, April 22: Traffic police booked 450 number plate violation cases in Hyderabad during a special drive on April 21 in Trimulgherry and Malkajgiri divisions.
Officials imposed fines of Rs 80000 on violators. Moreover, they charge sheeted 66 repeat offenders for court action.

The drive was conducted under the supervision of K Rahul Reddy. It focused on enforcing standard number plate rules across vehicles.
Authorities said number plates must follow government approved formats. They must remain clearly visible at all times.
High Security Registration Plates are mandatory wherever applicable. In addition, vehicle owners must follow correct font, size, and spacing norms.
Police warned against using fancy fonts or stickers. They also banned symbols and names on number plates.
Officials said tampering or hiding digits is a violation. Similarly, covering plates with mud or frames can attract penalties.
The department said such drives will continue regularly. It aims to improve compliance and road safety in the city.
