Hyderabad, April 29: A major fire broke out at a scrap warehouse in Suraram on Tuesday night, causing panic among nearby residents and shopkeepers.
The incident occurred opposite Jyothi Milk Center within the limits of Suraram Police Station. However, no casualties were reported.
Fire At Suraram Scrap Warehouse Triggers Panic
Thick flames and dense smoke engulfed the warehouse soon after the fire erupted.
After receiving information, fire department teams and police personnel rushed to the spot. Moreover, firefighting operations continued until early Wednesday morning.
Officials said the fire intensified because several drums containing chemicals were stored inside the warehouse.
Authorities also took precautionary measures to stop the flames from spreading to nearby buildings and commercial establishments.
Police said the exact reason behind the fire is still under investigation.
