Hyderabad, May 10: A 20 year old youth died by suicide in Mahabubabad district after an argument with his parents over a mobile phone purchase.
The deceased was identified as K Sai Kumar, a resident of Thorur mandal in Telangana.
According to police, Kumar had damaged his mobile phone recently and demanded that his parents buy him a new one immediately. However, his parents reportedly asked him to wait for some time before purchasing another phone.
Police said Kumar allegedly argued with his parents while he was under the influence of alcohol. Later, he remained upset after the conversation.
Taking the extreme step, Kumar allegedly hanged himself in his room while his parents were away from home.
After receiving information, police reached the spot and shifted the body to a government hospital for postmortem examination.
Subsequently, police registered a suspicious death case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
