Hyderabad, May 13: Two persons died in a road accident after a car hit a motorcycle at Mallapur in Hyderabad late on Tuesday night.
The accident took place near Swagath Function Hall in the industrial area under the limits of Nacharam Police.
Police said the crash occurred around midnight at a sharp turn on the road.
The victims were identified as Ganesh and Gangadhar, both daily wage workers from Mallapur.
One Died On Spot, Another Succumbed Later
According to local residents, the speeding car rammed into the motorcycle while the two men were travelling through the industrial area.
Ganesh, aged 40, died on the spot due to severe injuries.
Gangadhar, aged 45, suffered critical injuries in the collision.
Locals and police personnel rushed him for medical treatment. However, he died before reaching the hospital.
Police Begin Investigation
Nacharam police registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
Officials are examining whether overspeeding or negligence caused the accident.
Police are also verifying CCTV footage from nearby establishments to identify the sequence of events.
The bodies were shifted for postmortem examination.
