Hyderabad, May 13: The Government of Telangana has transferred T-SAT from the Information Technology and Communications Department to the Education Department.
Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao issued orders directing officials to complete the transfer process.
The General Administration Department was instructed to amend the Telangana Government Business Rules to reflect the change.
Officials of the Education Department were also directed to take further necessary action.
T-SAT Focuses On Educational Access
The previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi government established T-SAT under the IT, Electronics and Communications Department.
The initiative aimed to improve educational access and provide skill based learning through satellite broadcasting platforms.
T-SAT mainly focused on students from rural and underprivileged communities across Telangana.
The platform has been widely used for digital classrooms, competitive exam coaching, distance education and training programmes.
Officials said shifting T-SAT to the Education Department would help integrate its services more closely with academic programmes and state education policies.
The move is also expected to improve coordination between schools, colleges and digital learning platforms operated by the government.
T-SAT currently broadcasts educational content through dedicated satellite channels and online platforms across Telangana.
Further guidelines on administrative control and operational management are likely to be issued soon.
