Hyderabad, May 17: A police constable allegedly died by suicide after jumping before a train in Bellampalli during the early hours of Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Aravind Yadav, 25, a resident of Erraguntapalli village in Mandamarri town. He was working as a constable in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.
According to police, the incident took place on the third railway line beneath the Raman Colony flyover bridge in Bellampalli. Locals noticed the body on the railway track and alerted the authorities.
Bellampalli Railway Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the government hospital for postmortem examination.
Police Probe Reasons Behind Constable’s Suicide
Police officials said the exact reasons behind the suicide are yet to be known. Investigators are collecting information from family members, friends and colleagues to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
The incident created shock among local residents and police personnel in the region.
