Under heavy police deployment, Hindu groups performed a “Maha Aarti” at the complex, while members of the Muslim community reportedly offered prayers at their homes in protest.

Nearly 1,800 security personnel, including RAF, QRF and STF teams, were deployed across sensitive areas of Dhar town.

Police erected barricades around approach roads leading to the Bhojshala-Kamal Maula complex from early Friday morning. Authorities also conducted flag marches on Thursday night ahead of the ceremonies and monitored social media activity to prevent any untoward incidents.

According to officials, additional security pickets were established in sensitive and Muslim-majority localities.

The developments come after the Archaeological Survey of India granted unrestricted access to the Hindu community for worship and related activities at the monument following the recent High Court verdict.
