Hyderabad, May 23: A shocking murder attempt on a lawyer created panic in Hyderabad after unidentified assailants allegedly rammed a car into him and fled from the scene in broad daylight at Masab Tank on Friday.
The victim was identified as advocate Khaja Moinuddin, who sustained serious injuries in the incident and is currently undergoing treatment. Police said his condition is reported to be critical.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred when the lawyer stepped out of his house in the morning and was preparing to leave in his car.
Assailants allegedly waiting near house
Police said the accused were allegedly waiting near the victim’s residence before carrying out the attack.
As advocate Moinuddin opened the car door and attempted to enter the vehicle, the assailants suddenly drove a speeding car towards him from behind and hit him forcefully.
Due to the impact, the lawyer was thrown onto the road and suffered severe injuries. Immediately after the attack, the accused fled from the spot in the vehicle.
Local residents rushed to help the injured lawyer and alerted the police and emergency services.
Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information and shifted the injured advocate to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators have begun examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and are trying to identify the vehicle used in the attack and trace the accused persons involved.
Officials suspect the incident may have been pre planned as the attackers were reportedly waiting near the victim’s residence before targeting him.
Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspects.
A video related to the alleged murder attempt has surfaced on social media and is rapidly going viral.
The footage reportedly shows the moment when the speeding vehicle rammed into the lawyer before fleeing from the scene.
The incident triggered concern among residents and members of the legal fraternity over the growing incidents of violent attacks in the city.
