New Delhi, May 29: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for submitting bank account details for the refund of NEET UG 2026 examination fees till June 22.
The decision comes after nearly 13 lakh candidates updated their bank account details on the NEET UG 2026 registration portal.
NEET UG 2026 was cancelled earlier amid allegations of a question paper leak. The examination will now be conducted again on June 21.
The NTA had earlier announced that candidates would not have to pay any fresh examination fee for the re test. It also assured students that the fee paid for the cancelled examination would be refunded.
Candidates asked to update bank details online
According to the NTA, the facility to submit preferred bank account details was initially available from May 22 to May 26. However, many students had not completed the process.
The agency stated that the extension was provided to help remaining candidates submit their bank details without difficulty.
Candidates can log in to the official NEET UG 2026 portal using their credentials and access the refund section to update their account information.
The NTA also advised students to upload a cancelled cheque, if required, to avoid errors in bank account details.
Officials clarified that once candidates submit their bank account information, no further modifications will be allowed.
Around 23 lakh students had registered for NEET UG 2026, which was originally conducted on May 3. The exam was cancelled on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the case, while the fresh examination is scheduled to be held on June 21.
