Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday reviewed the implementation of the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) aimed at providing comprehensive health security to Telangana government employees and pensioners.
During the review meeting, the Chief Minister decided that the scheme would be implemented through a dedicated Employee Health Care Trust. The proposed trust will include six representatives from employee unions and two representatives from pensioners, ensuring stakeholder participation in the administration of the scheme.
The government also decided to appoint a serving government employee as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the trust. An official announcement regarding the composition of the trust committee is expected shortly.
Digital Health Cards for Employees and Pensioners
As part of the scheme, the State government is preparing to issue digital health cards to employees, pensioners, and their eligible family members. The process of collecting beneficiary details has already been completed, with departments directed to upload the required data by May 31.
Officials are expected to begin issuing digital health cards after verification of the uploaded information. These cards will enable beneficiaries to access medical services seamlessly under the new health scheme.
Cashless Medical Treatment
The Employees Health Scheme will provide cashless medical treatment to government employees and pensioners through a network of empanelled hospitals. The initiative is designed to reduce the financial burden of healthcare expenses and ensure timely access to quality medical services.
The government believes the scheme will strengthen healthcare coverage and offer long-term health security to serving employees, retired personnel, and their dependent family members.
Major Welfare Initiative
The Employees Health Scheme is one of the key welfare measures being implemented by the Telangana government for its workforce and pensioners. The administration expects the trust-based model to ensure transparent management, efficient service delivery, and effective monitoring of healthcare benefits.
Officials stated that further operational guidelines and details regarding the trust structure, digital health cards, and empanelled hospitals will be announced soon.
