Telangana Marks 12th State Formation Day With Grand Celebrations

Hyderabad: Telangana celebrated its 12th State Formation Day with grand events across the State on Monday. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy led the official celebrations at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds, where he hoisted the national flag, received a ceremonial guard of honour from the police, and paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the formation of Telangana.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister visited Gun Park and offered floral tributes to the Telangana martyrs. Addressing the gathering later, he described June 2 as an emotional occasion that honours past sacrifices while inspiring the State to pursue future development goals.

Leaders Participate in Statewide Celebrations

State Formation Day celebrations were held in all districts, with ministers, legislators, and public representatives participating in official programmes.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka attended the celebrations in Khammam, where he highlighted the State government’s welfare initiatives. He announced that 4.50 lakh beneficiaries had been sanctioned houses under the first phase of the Indiramma Housing Scheme. He said the government had allocated ₹22,000 crore for the programme and reiterated that 50.90 lakh families were receiving free electricity of up to 200 units.

Welfare and Development Focus

Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the Congress government was committed to strengthening welfare programmes while accelerating development across Telangana. He said housing, power subsidies, and social security schemes were being implemented to improve the lives of economically weaker sections.

Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy participated in the celebrations in Nalgonda. He paid homage at the Martyrs’ Memorial before hoisting the national flag at the Police Parade Grounds.

Meanwhile, Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy attended the State Formation Day programme in Hanumakonda, where he unfurled the national flag at the Police Parade Grounds and greeted citizens on the occasion.

Tribute to Telangana Movement

Leaders across the State remembered the sacrifices made during the Telangana statehood movement and paid homage to the martyrs who fought for a separate State. Public representatives said Telangana’s formation remains a historic milestone that continues to inspire efforts toward inclusive growth and development.

Telangana was officially formed on June 2, 2014, becoming India’s 29th State after a prolonged movement for self-governance, regional identity, and equitable development.
