Hyderabad, June 4 (Maxim News): Former minister and senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao launched a sharp attack on the Telangana government, accusing it of failing employees and workers across the state.
Speaking at a Jalamandali gate meeting held in Khairatabad on Thursday, Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government has “betrayed” employees and labourers by neglecting key financial commitments and welfare measures.
He strongly criticised the government for keeping as many as six Dearness Allowance (DA) instalments pending, calling it an unprecedented situation in the country. He said it was “shocking” that Telangana, which once led in employee welfare policies, is now facing such delays.
Harish Rao also pointed out that employees had expected the announcement of a new Pay Revision Commission (PRC) on June 2, Telangana Formation Day, but were left disappointed.
The BRS leader recalled that during the previous government, regularisation of employees, promotions, and administrative reforms in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) were carried out without corruption or delays.
He said continuous questioning and accountability were necessary to resolve employee issues and urged workers to raise their voices against injustice.
Sigachi Incident Compensation Delay Allegation
Harish Rao also raised concerns over the alleged delay in compensation for victims of the Sigachi pharma plant accident in Patancheru, where a boiler explosion reportedly killed workers a year ago. He claimed that the promised ₹1 crore compensation for families has not been implemented so far.
He further alleged that employees of GHMC, RTC, and Singareni Collieries are being “neglected and cheated” by the current government, and said the lack of PRC announcement even after two and a half years reflects administrative failure. (Maxim News)
