Hyderabad, June 5: The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has issued a rain alert for several districts in Telangana, warning of rainfall and strong winds until 1 a.m. on Friday.
According to the weather department, rain is likely in districts including Khammam, Medchal, Hyderabad, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Rajanna Sircilla, Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool, Sangareddy, Suryapet, Vikarabad and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri.
Rain Alert Warns of Strong Winds
The department said wind speeds are expected to range between 40 and 50 kmph in affected areas. A yellow alert has also been issued for several districts due to the possibility of heavy rainfall.
Rainfall has already been reported in many parts of Hyderabad, leading to traffic congestion on several major roads during evening hours.
Officials have advised residents to remain cautious, especially in low lying and waterlogging prone areas. People have also been urged to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall and strong winds.
Authorities are monitoring the situation and have asked citizens to follow weather updates and traffic advisories issued by the concerned departments.
