Hyderabad, June 8: The Filmnagar police have registered a case against a 40 year old man for allegedly cheating and blackmailing a woman after promising to marry her.
The accused, identified as Ramu, allegedly developed a relationship with the 32 year old woman and gained her trust by assuring her that he would marry her.

According to the police, during their association, the accused reportedly obtained private photographs of the woman.
When the woman recently raised the issue of marriage, Ramu allegedly refused and threatened to upload the photographs on social media.
Police said the accused also demanded money from the victim and allegedly told her that he would delete the photographs if she paid him.
Distressed by the threats and alleged harassment, the woman approached the Filmnagar police and lodged a complaint.
Based on her complaint, police registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Officials said further inquiry is underway to establish all aspects of the allegations and take appropriate legal action.
