The developments come after the Trinamool Congress faced electoral setbacks in West Bengal, leading to internal criticism over leadership and strategy, according to reported claims from dissident leaders.

Some rebel leaders have publicly alleged that decision making within the party had become concentrated and that senior voices were not receiving adequate space. These remarks have been attributed to internal dissatisfaction within sections of the party.

At the same time, senior leader Shatrughan Sinha rejected speculation about leaving the party and said he would continue to stand with Mamata Banerjee. He stated that he would not change his political position during a difficult phase for the party.

Meanwhile, TMC leaders have questioned the authenticity of the circulating signatures and rejected claims of a major split.
