17-Year-Old Held with 41 Kg Ganja at Secunderabad Railway Station

Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP), in coordination with the EAGLE team, busted an interstate ganja smuggling racket and arrested three alleged transporters, including a 17-year-old Child in Conflict with Law (CCL), at Secunderabad Railway Station.

Police seized 41.131 kg of dry ganja, valued at approximately ₹20.56 lakh, during the operation.

The arrested accused were identified as Mahesh Dilip Wandhare (25) and Kartik Chandrakant Ambe (30), both residents of Nagpur, Maharashtra. The third accused is a 17-year-old juvenile. The alleged supplier, Sanju Sahu of Balangir, Odisha, is currently absconding.

Ganja Transported by Train

According to the police, Sanju Sahu allegedly promised Mahesh ₹5,000 per trip to transport ganja from Balangir, Odisha, to Nagpur. Mahesh is said to have recruited Kartik for the operation, while the juvenile later joined the group.

Investigators said the trio collected 40 packets of ganja at Balangir Railway Station on July 3 and travelled to Charlapalli aboard the Nagavali Express on July 4.

On July 5, they allegedly reached Secunderabad Railway Station intending to board the Dakshin Express to Nagpur. Acting on specific information, the Secunderabad GRP and EAGLE team intercepted the suspects and seized the contraband.

Police have registered a case and launched efforts to trace and arrest the absconding supplier. Further investigation is underway to identify others involved in the interstate drug trafficking network.
