Talasani Raises Doubts Over SIR Process In Telangana

Hyderabad, July 7: BRS leader and former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Monday alleged that the ongoing SIR process in Telangana has created widespread confusion due to inadequate staffing and poor planning. He urged the government to strengthen the voter revision exercise to ensure that no eligible voter loses the right to vote.

Addressing the media, Talasani Srinivas Yadav claimed that several doubts have emerged over the SIR process, similar to concerns raised in other states. He alleged that the government had failed to appoint sufficient staff and had not provided proper training to Booth Level Agents.

He said nearly 30 percent of the enumeration forms had not been distributed even after 15 days of the exercise. According to him, Forms 6 and 7 were also unavailable to many voters.

The former minister further claimed that less than five percent of the Election Commission’s target had been achieved in Hyderabad. He said the current pace of the exercise could affect the successful completion of the voter revision process.

Talasani appealed to citizens to remain alert during the SIR process and verify their electoral details. He also urged the government to deploy more personnel and suggested appointing one officer for every ten households to speed up the distribution and verification of forms.
