Hyderabad, July 25: TGSPDCL has shifted its focus to commercial revenue and bill recovery. The company is reviewing commercial connections section wise to cut losses and clear arrears. It is also checking cases of domestic connections being used for business.
There are 9.78 lakh commercial connections in 10 circles under CURE. Hyderabad South Circle has the highest number, with 1.44 lakh connections. Banjara Hills Circle has the lowest, with 72,000.
Officials are also looking closely at bill collection in South Circle. Allegations of poor recovery have led to special attention there. Vigilance teams may inspect suspected misuse of domestic connections for commercial activity.
TGSPDCL is also planning energy audits on distribution transformers in areas with high commercial use. The aim is to make sure every unit used in business centres is billed properly.
