Hyderabad: Apple is expected to unveil its much anticipated iPhone 18 Pro series next month, with leaks suggesting major upgrades in performance, cameras and design. Although the company has not officially confirmed the launch date or specifications, industry reports indicate that the new lineup could debut at Apple’s September event, expected around September 12.
The iPhone 18 series is rumoured to include six models: iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Air, iPhone 18e, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which some reports refer to as the iPhone Ultra.
iPhone 18 Pro Could Bring Smaller Dynamic Island and Higher Price
According to reports, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will feature Apple’s next generation A20 Pro processor, built on TSMC’s 2 nanometre process, offering improved performance and better power efficiency over the current generation.
One of the biggest design changes expected is a smaller Dynamic Island, with Apple reportedly moving more Face ID components beneath the display. The Pro models are also expected to retain 6.3 inch and 6.9 inch display sizes while introducing refinements such as improved rear camera housing, better glass and frame integration, and a premium aluminium finish.
The camera system is tipped to receive a major upgrade with a variable aperture primary camera, allowing users to adjust the amount of light entering the lens for better low light photography and improved depth of field. The telephoto camera is also expected to receive enhancements.
Reports suggest the iPhone 18 Pro Max could feature a battery of up to 5,500mAh, depending on the market.
The Pro models are expected to become more expensive due to higher component costs. Reports indicate the iPhone 18 Pro could start at around ₹1,39,900 in India, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max may be priced from ₹1,54,900. Internationally, prices could increase by $250 to $300 compared to the iPhone 17 Pro series.
Apple is also reportedly negotiating lower prices for OLED display panels to offset rising memory chip costs.
Apart from smartphones, Apple is rumoured to introduce its first AirPods with built in cameras. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the project has moved closer to production and could be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
Several colour options are also being tested, including a new Dark Cherry finish, along with Cloud Blue, Silver and Dark Grey.
Apple has not officially confirmed any of these features or pricing. The final specifications, launch date and availability will be announced during the company’s official September event.
