Water Supply Disruption | Hyderabad, August 4 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board announced a temporary six-hour shutdown of drinking water supplies across several western localities on August 5.
Officials scheduled critical installation and technical maintenance work on a 33 KV outdoor Vacuum Circuit Breaker at the Kalabgur electricity substation.
This essential facility powers the primary pumping machinery of the Manjira Water Supply Project. The official maintenance period will run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Wednesday.
During this operational window, several residential hubs and industrial zones will face partial or complete disruptions in pipeline pressure. Engineering teams will replace worn electrical components to prevent major power failures during peak pumping operations later this season.
Water Supply Disruption | Affected Localities Advised To Store Adequate Water Reserves
The affected residential areas include Ramachandrapuram, Ashok Nagar, Jyothi Nagar, Lingampally, Chandanagar, Hafeezpet, Madinaguda, and Miyapur. In addition, pipeline outages will impact Beeramguda, Ameenpur, Bhagyanagar Colony, the BHEL Factory premises, BHEL Township, and Hyderabad Central University bulk connections.
Industrial off-take points across division four will also experience reduced supply during the technical shutdown. Water Board engineers requested all residents to store sufficient drinking water in advance to avoid daily inconvenience.
Furthermore, officials advised consumers to practice prudent water usage until system pressure normalizes following the repair completion. Technical crews will immediately resume full-scale pumping operations as soon as the circuit breaker testing concludes at the substation. (Maxim News)
