Ranchi: The indefinite protest by students over alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examination has intensified, with thousands of aspirants continuing their agitation for the 12th consecutive day at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi.
The protesters are demanding a fair investigation into the alleged irregularities in the JPSC examination and action against those responsible. They have vowed to continue their protest until their demands are addressed.
JPSC exam irregularities protest gains momentum in Ranchi
Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium has become the focal point of the students’ agitation, with aspirants alleging that they have been forced to protest without access to basic amenities such as drinking water, food and toilet facilities.
The students claim they have been enduring harsh weather conditions while waiting for the state government to respond to their concerns. They allege that despite the prolonged protest, no senior government representative has visited the site.
Union Minister of State for Defence and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth criticised the Hemant Soren-led government, accusing it of ignoring the concerns of unemployed youth. He also criticised the Opposition for remaining silent on the issue and alleged that the government had shown complete insensitivity towards the protesting students.
Godda MP Nishikant Dubey also targeted the state government, alleging irregularities in the recruitment process and claiming that examination seats had been sold. He questioned the government’s handling of the recruitment process and demanded accountability.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda expressed support for the protesting students, stating that the struggle for the rights of unemployed youth would not remain confined to Ranchi.
The protest follows allegations of irregularities and a possible paper leak in the JPSC examination. Students have reiterated that they will continue their agitation until the government announces concrete measures to address their demands and ensure transparency in the recruitment process.
The state government has not yet issued an official statement on the protesters’ demands.
