Mumbai /Hyderabad: An 8 foot snake was rescued from actor Shah Rukh Khan’s Mumbai residence Mannat after two snakes were spotted in the garden area.
The incident took place on the evening of August 17 at the Bandra West bungalow. The snakes were reportedly found entwined beneath a shed on the property.
Snake rescuer Vicky Dubey reached Mannat after the reptiles were spotted at around 8 pm. He also informed Forest Department officials about the situation.
Dubey safely captured one of the snakes during the rescue operation. The reptile measured about 8 feet in length.
Officials identified the captured snake as a Dhaman, also known as an Indian Rat Snake. It is a non venomous species and does not pose a threat to humans.
Second snake escapes during Mannat rescue
The second snake managed to escape while people gathered around the area. Its disappearance prompted concern among Mannat’s security personnel and household members.
A search operation continued across the premises until late at night. However, rescuers could not locate the second snake.

Vicky Dubey reportedly assured those present that the rescued Dhaman was harmless. He also advised people not to panic during the incident.
The Forest Department followed its established protocols after the rescue. Officials subsequently released the captured snake safely into its natural habitat.
The incident drew attention because of the location involved. Mannat remains one of Mumbai’s most recognisable celebrity residences and attracts considerable public interest because of Shah Rukh Khan’s popularity.
However, the presence of snakes in residential gardens can occur because reptiles may enter areas that provide shelter. Gardens, sheds and other less disturbed spaces can offer suitable hiding places.
The incident also highlights the importance of contacting trained rescuers when snakes enter residential premises. Attempting to handle or capture a snake without proper expertise can create unnecessary risks.
In this case, the rescue team safely removed one snake without harm. The second reptile remained untraced after the search at the time of the report.
The rescue comes amid continued public interest in snake sightings at celebrity residences in Mumbai. A similar incident involving a snake at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments was also reported earlier.
The Mannat incident ended without any reported injuries. The rescued Dhaman was released back into its natural habitat after officials completed the required procedure.
