Congress Decision On Vande Mataram Draws Amit Shah’s Ire

Hyderabad, August 20: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday criticised the Congress over its decision to sing only the first two stanzas of Vande Mataram at party events.

The Congress has decided to follow a 1937 resolution of its Working Committee on the national song. Shah called the decision an insult to the country.

He said the issue was not merely political but also connected with the sentiments of people across the country.

Amit Shah Targets Congress Over Vande Mataram

Shah urged people to oppose the Congress stand on Vande Mataram. He also accused the party of repeating mistakes from its past.

Further, Shah alleged that the Congress’s appeasement policies had contributed to the partition of India.

He criticised the party for failing to learn from its past decisions. He also accused Congress of following a similar approach over Vande Mataram.

The remarks come amid a growing political dispute between the BJP and Congress over the national song.
