Hyderabad, Sept 11: A couple from Karnataka died by suicide in separate incidents in Hyderabad on Thursday morning, reportedly following marital disputes.
The deceased were identified as 28 year old Sharanappa and his wife, Lakshmi. The couple had been living in the city for about one and a half years, according to railway officials.
Sharanappa died after being hit by a train near Moula Ali. Meanwhile, Lakshmi reportedly died after consuming pesticide at their residence in Lalapet.
The Government Railway Police received information about the incident at 8:55 am on Thursday. The information concerned the railway tracks between Secunderabad and Moula Ali.
Following the alert, GRP officials reached the spot and found a dead body. Police later identified the deceased as Sharanappa.
Railway officials said Sharanappa had married Lakshmi nearly 15 months ago. The couple had reportedly faced disputes since their marriage.
According to officials, the couple travelled to their native place for the Rakhi festival. They returned to Hyderabad around 10 days before the incident.
Officials said the couple reportedly resumed arguing after returning to the city. The disputes allegedly continued until Thursday morning.

A railway official said Lakshmi reportedly consumed pesticide before Sharanappa woke up on Thursday. She later died at their residence in Lalapet.
After seeing Lakshmi, Sharanappa reportedly went to the railway tracks. A train then struck him near Moula Ali, according to railway officials.
Police have registered cases following the deaths. Officials have taken up an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
