Hyderabad, Sept. 11: Khairatabad Bada Ganesh will lead to traffic diversions from September 12 to 24, Hyderabad Traffic Police said.
The diversions will operate on a need basis from 11 am until late at night. Police will adjust the restrictions based on the number of devotees visiting the idol.
The advisory covers several important routes around Khairatabad and nearby areas. Commuters may face diversions as visitor numbers increase during the festival period.
Traffic police have urged commuters to avoid the affected routes where possible. They have also asked motorists to use alternative routes to reach their destinations.
Khairatabad Bada Ganesh traffic diversions
Traffic coming from VV Statue towards Mint Compound through Rajeev Gandhi Statue will face a diversion. Police will divert vehicles at Rajeev Gandhi Statue towards Nirankari Junction.
Traffic coming from Old Police Station Saifabad towards Bada Ganesh through Rajdoot Lane will also face restrictions. Police will divert vehicles at Rajdoot Lane towards Iqbal Minar.
Vehicles travelling from Iqbal Minar towards IMAX Theatre through Mint Compound will not be allowed on that route. Police will divert them towards Secretariat X Road at the Mint Compound line.
Traffic coming from Necklace Rotary towards Mint Compound will also face restrictions. Police will divert vehicles at Necklace Rotary towards Secretariat Junction or Khairatabad Flyover.
Vehicles coming from Nirankari through Khairatabad Post Office Lane towards Khairatabad Railway Gate will face another diversion. Police will divert them at the Post Office towards Old Police Station Saifabad Junction.
The restrictions will remain subject to visitor movement. Therefore, police may impose or adjust diversions depending on the number of devotees seeking darshan.
Traffic congestion and parking arrangements
Police expect congestion at several major junctions during the period. These include Khairatabad, Shadan College, Ayodhya and Nirankari.
Other expected congestion points include Old Police Station Saifabad, Mint Compound and NTR Marg. Secretariat Junction, Necklace Rotary, KCP Junction and Masab Tank may also experience heavy traffic.
Commuters have been advised to avoid these junctions whenever possible. They should also consider alternative routes before starting their journey.
Visitors arriving through Necklace Rotary and NTR Garden can park at designated locations. These include Race Road, NTR Ghat and the HMDA parking area beside IMAX Theatre.
Visitors can also use the open place opposite IMAX Theatre for parking. Those arriving through Khairatabad Junction should park their vehicles at Vishveshwaraiah Bhavan.
Traffic police have requested visitors to follow parking instructions and cooperate with personnel deployed in the area. The arrangements aim to manage traffic movement during periods of heavy visitor turnout.
