Hyderabad, Sept. 17: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the government is committed to governance based on people’s self respect, rights and welfare.
He made the remarks at the Telangana Praja Palana Dinotsavam celebrations at Public Gardens in Hyderabad on Thursday.
The Chief Minister unfurled the national flag and paid tribute to those who fought for Telangana’s freedom, rights and self respect.
Revanth Reddy said Telangana has a long history of struggles against oppression and authoritarian rule. He said September 17 holds a special place in the state’s history.
He recalled the integration of Hyderabad with India on September 17, 1948. He said the day marked the transition from princely rule towards democratic governance.
Revanth Reddy Lists Telangana Government Welfare Measures
Revanth Reddy said Praja Palana means respecting people’s voices, protecting their rights and ensuring government resources reach all sections.
He said the government aims to make one crore women economically stronger. He also highlighted Telangana’s per capita income of Rs 4,18,931.
The Chief Minister said the government waived crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh. He said 25.35 lakh farmer families benefited from the loan waiver.
He said more than Rs 36,000 crore had been deposited into farmers’ accounts through Rythu Bharosa.
The government has spent about Rs 1.72 lakh crore on agriculture and farmer welfare over 32 months, he said.
Revanth Reddy also highlighted free electricity of up to 200 units for more than 53 lakh families. He said cooking gas cylinders are being provided for Rs 500.
He said the government has sent bills providing 42 percent reservation for Backward Classes to the President for approval. The Telangana government has previously said the bills cover reservations in local bodies, education and employment.
The Chief Minister also highlighted SC classification and the construction of Young India Integrated Residential Schools.
He said more than 72,000 government recruitments had been completed. He also referred to the Young India Skills University being established for youth.
Revanth Reddy said proposals had been prepared for 122.9 km of Metro expansion at an estimated cost of Rs 38,595 crore.
He also highlighted the Musi revival project, planned across a 55 km stretch.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister said Telangana aims to become a $3 trillion economy by 2047. He said the state also aims to raise its share of India’s GDP to 10 percent.
He said Bharat Future City is being developed across about 30,000 acres. The government plans to unveil the Future City master plan at the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 in December.
Revanth Reddy called for preserving the lessons of Telangana’s history while continuing efforts to build a modern state.
He urged people to carry forward the spirit of struggle and work together to ensure development reaches all regions of Telangana.
